Out with the New... In with the Old!

I am AMAZED! I know you're gonna say..girl! Catch up! but a whole new world has opened up to me!! Seriously, the Aladdin song was playin' in my head!! ( you know... a whole new world, a magic place I never knew, no one to tell us no, or where to go...) it is in yours too! {so sorry...} I LOVE old stuff now! Watching Junk Raiders doesnt help my obsession either..
So Ive never been opposed to used things, but now Im almost completely against buying anything new {except shoes...cause that's just plain icky}.
So getting to the point...I went to my new fav store... Goodwill. In search of fabrics, knick-knacks... o.k...I dont know for sure what I was looking for but I knew I would know it when I saw it. I ended up spending $10. I bought a denim pillow case, an almost full roll of giraffe print ribbon, and a pair of Ann Taylor black and white print capris, btw...this is the first time I was not complaining about looking for a bigger size! The bigger the size, the more fabric for me to use...and at the same bargain price as the itty bitty's. Not sure what Im gonna do with them yet...but I'll let you know when I do.

sweet treats

wash cloth lollipops with baby spoons, and diaper and washcloth cupcakes.

Monkey'n around

Monkey diaper cake with coordinating wipes case. The monkey is a hooded towel stuffed inside the cake. I can stuff them with blankets, towels, toys, etc.

Bippity Boppity Boo!

Put 'em together and what have you got?! The two prettiest princesses any one could ask for! I warned ya'll about the pics though! This one even has the date on it! Hilarious!

Color Me Crazy

I know it's strange... but I have not been good at taking pics of my work. I dont know why!? But Im sure kicking my self in the ol fanny now! Ive searched through tons of pics looking for some of the things I have done in the past. I did find a few.... however they are obviously for my own pleasure and really shouldn't be used for trying to impress all of you with my mad skillz, but im posting them anyhow. So pretend you're impressed! And i promise to get new pics up asap!

The Mom Behind the Madness

Hi! Im Shelly...and Im a craft-a-holic. I love all things old, upcycled, distressed, and baby (not in that particular order). I believe that women should be able to enjoy "pretties" without breaking the bank. I started crafting about 4 years ago when my good friend had her first child, a girl! I instantly became obsessed with all things girl...(Im sorry, my son, but boy stuff just wasnt as inspiring...and who knew I would love crafting!?!) But the obsession went into over-drive after becoming a mom for the 2nd time to my beautiful baby girl..Evvy Grace, to whom this blog is named after.
I went to boutique after boutique all the way from Beaumont to Corpus searching for the latest and greatest and realized...I CAN DO THAT! So I bought my first glue gun (yes, my first one EVER at the prime age of 23) and every crystal that Hobby Lobby had in stock and got busy! First I blinged shoes, then wipes cases, then bags! Then I fell in love with ribbon.. oh yes! Lots and lots of ribbon!! Plain ribbon, flower-dy ribbon, ribbon with stitches, ribbon with animal prints, ribbon with Cinderella, ribbon ka-bobs, fried ribbon .... oh sorry! I got off track! Point is... I HEART RIBBON! And now! Finally! I have a cricut... sorry ribbon, you have been set aside for my grand new collection of card stock and decorative paper. I may or may not have sat down one after noon for about 3 hours just to pre-cut and sort all my pretty paper into 6x6 strips which fit my mat perfectly.
So now, after all these years I am going to become extremely vulnerable and share all my pretties with all of you. I hope you enjoy and let me know if you do! ;)

Chicken Big

Im sorry to disappoint all of you who are looking for a really great chicken recipe.... My poor kids will be the first to tell you all that dinner is the LAST thing on my mind. Im actually just a really big chicken! Thankfully, this really big chicken has a really wonderful friend who did ALL but put a gun to my head to force me to follow through with my dream. That really great friend is Mandie Morris, owner of Altar'd Funky. Chic. Furniture. and to her I owe a million thanks! So thank you Mandie! I love ya!
